" You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in
twenty sessions and have a completely new body
in thirty sessions "

" We retire too early and we die too young. Our prime of  life should be in the 70's and old age should not come until we are almost 100"

Stott Pilates Reformer

The History of the Pilates Reformer

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th Century. . He developed a system of exercises which were intended to strengthen the human mind and body. Joseph believed that mental and physical health were inter-related. He said that the inspiration for his method came during World War One, while he was held in an internment camp on the Isle of Man. He developed his method which he called "Controlology" in the camp for the next four years. This is where the  Pilates Reformer was founded. Joseph experimented and helped rehabilitate war patients in their hospital beds. He attached springs to their beds so he could start toning their muscles while they were bedbound.  From here he went on to develop the Pilates Reformer which he called "apparatus",  and many other forms of equipment such as the Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Spine Corrector and Ladder Barrel. Each apparatus was designed to help accelerate the process of stretching, strengthening, body alignment and increased core strength and control.

At the Pilates Rehab Studio we currently have 2 Pilates Reformers.  We are offering the option of 1-1 Reformer  or Dual Reformer Training.
